API Plan 52 & 53A Reservoirs

Product Overview

API Plan 52 and API Plan 53A is designed in accordance with API 682. Standard tubing or welded pipe construction and optional flanged connection. In a Plan 52, the pressure switch is set to activate on increasing pressure and indicates an increase in leakage or a failure of the primary seal. Plan 53A is a pressurised plan where pressure is being induced by means of external pressure source such as plant nitrogen header. These reservoir-based seal support systems are designed for both API Plan 52 and 53A applications to support unpressurized and pressurized dual seals. Circulation of barrier fluid is normally achieved with a pumping ring (or optional circulating pump), and a range of heat exchangers can be packaged with the system selection dependent on available plant utilities.
